All Saints School

All Saints School Science Fair

In the spring, All Saints hosts an annual Science Fair where all students have the opportunity to work with the scientific method and create a project for the fair. The Science Fair is a chance to encourage a spirit of scientific inquiry. Students look at understanding the world around us through experimentation and problem solving, and develop key skills along the way. Grades PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 7th and 8th grade classes incorporate science fair projects into their curriculum. It is voluntary participation for students in 2nd through 6th grade.

Using the scientific method, students test a hypothesis around a theme like chemistry, physics or life sciences. The experiments, observations and results are documented to share with students and families at a school-wide fair. Parent volunteers review each project with awards given to participants, best in-class visual and oral presentations.

The Science Fair is supported wholly by volunteers – family members with experience, some expertise or enthusiasm for science as well as any parent who would like to support the various needs leading up to and at the fair event. Information and opportunities will be listed in Parent Resource weekly emails in the months leading up to the event. For questions, please contact sciencefair@allsaintsportland.com.
